Having scored just six goals their previous four games, the Wings made a few tweaks to the lines. Most notably, Robby Fabbri moved from centering the second line to playing wing on a line with Dylan Larkin and Anthony Mantha. Vladislav Namestnikov, who had centered the third line, moved up to center Bobby Ryan and Filip Zadina. That essentially assembled all of the team’s skilled forwards on two lines, but it was Glendening who put the Wings on the board. During a scramble in front of Pekka Rinne, Glendening was able to direct a backhand into the net despite being on his knees, at 4:55 of the first period.

Alexis Lafreniere, C, New York Rangers (enters ranks at No. 242): With Artemi Panarin taking a leave of absence and Mika Zibanejad looking lost, the opportunity is now for Lafreniere to either make his mark or be banished to become a post-hype sleeper a year from now.Dallas Stars Custom Logo Face Coverings

But what seems to remain true is that the Sabres must cater to Eichel completely, or risk losing him entirely.

The Czar, as he is called by some in New York, was expected to open the season as the clear No. 1 netminder for the Blueshirts, replacing Henrik Lundqvist. Coach David Quinn opted to rotate Shesterkin and Alexandar Georgiev to start the season, but lately, the Russian goalie has started to take control between the pipes. Shesterkin allowed one goal on 27 shots to earn the win Saturday and is now 4-5-1 on the season. But the 25-year-old is 3-3-0 in February with an outstanding 1.87 GAA and .940 save percentage on the month.
